Friday 26th March 2021
10am Official Opening Cost: Free
The Commemoration Assembly will be the official opening of FAHS – Feilding High School’s 100th celebration in the school hall. The current senior school students and staff will be present at this event, along with those past pupils attending the weekend celebrations. The Principal, Mr Nathan Stewart, will address the assembly and there will also be a guest speaker.
11.30 am– 4pm Tours of School and School Farms Cost: Free
The school will be open for past pupils to view and reminisce. Guided tours by current students and staff will be available to showcase the school of today. There will also be an opportunity for past pupils to be driven up to the top farm, Manawanui, where you will see the farm and the new Canoe Polo pond. Being the first school in the Southern Hemisphere to have adopted some amazing technology, the dairy farm adjacent to the school, Ngakaunui, will showcase our new robotic milking system.
1pm – 9pm Registration Pack Collection Cost: Free
Registration Packs will be available for pick-up from the school hall. These will include your ‘passport’ for the weekend and provide vouchers that can be redeemed around Feilding Township during your weekend visit.
5pm – 9pm Meet & Greet Cost: $15.00
A meet & greet event is being held in the school hall and this will be a great opportunity for all past pupils to gather and catch up with their classmates of years gone by.
Finger food will be provided. There will be a cash bar (along with eftpos facilities) available to purchase drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
Saturday 27th March 2021
9am – 2pm Continued Registration Pack Collection
Another chance to pick up your registration pack from the school hall filled with goodies for the weekend.
10am – 12pm Decade Photos
Decade photos will be taken in the school gym to recapture classmates of the past. The cost is included in your registration fee. The passport included in your pack will give you the time for your decade photo.
10am – 2pm Tours of School, School Farms and Feilding Township Cost: Free
Tours of the school, school farm and township will enable past people of Feilding to see the changes time has allowed to occur. The school tours will run every half hour starting at the school hall and lead by current students and staff. The school farms and township tours will run on the hour starting at the North Street bus stop. These will be guided by local District Council members.
10.30am – 2pm Sports games and Cultural Entertainment Cost: Free
Over the years, the school has had much success in the sporting and cultural arenas resulting in many black jersey recipients. Our successful sporting alumni are on display out by the rugby field behind the hall and also on the hockey turf fence. For everyone’s enjoyment, the school will provide a range of games and entertainment to showcase the current students’ talents. Check out your passport, included in your registration pack, for starting times and venues of the different events.
1pm – 2pm Past and Present Staff Gathering Cost: $10.25
This is an opportunity for current and past staff to gather for a catch-up in the staffroom.
6.30pm - midnight Dinner Cost: $80 per person
The doors of the Feilding Civic Center on Aorangi Road will open for dinner at 5.30pm. The Principal, Nathan Stewart and Feilding Mayor, Helen Worboys will begin the official welcome at 6.30pm. The rest of the evening will be MC’d by past student, Craig Wiggins. On arrival you will receive a complimentary drink, with further drinks being available from the on-site bar. Cash and eftpos facilities will be available on the night.
Number for the dinner have been limited to 500 seats. It is first in, first served for tickets.
Sunday 28th March 2021
10am – 11.00am Church Service and Cake Cutting
The 100th celebration church service will be held in the school hall followed by the cutting of the cake and a cuppa.
11.00am Tree Planting and Official Closing
The final event for the weekend will be the planting of the commemoration tree.
