Football has seen a resurgence at FAHS over the last five years and offers boys and girls the opportunity to participate in the Central Football Secondary Schools competition.

We currently have 6 teams that compete in the inter-school competition: 2 Senior Boys’, 2 Junior Boys’ and 2 Girls’. The boys’ teams play on Saturday mornings, while the girls play on Wednesday afternoons. All these teams are well-supported by  teaching staff, parents and Feilding United AFC club members who handle coaching and management duties.

The school is well-resources for football, with two full-sized playing pitches, one on Churcher Street and the other on North Street.

The senior and junior boys participate in pre-season friendlies with Feilding United AFC and ManawatÅ« based schools, and regional exchanges with Hawke’s Bay schools began in 2013. The girls compete in a pre-season tournament with Freyberg H.S., Wanganui Girls’ College and Wanganui High School each March to prepare for the season.

The football programme nominates students for Central Football Representative sides in June and had 10 students placed in representative teams in 2015.

In September 2015, the Senior Boys’ 1st XI participated in the Trident Tournament as part of the New Zealand Secondary School Winter Tournament.

The school has a close working relationship with Feilding United AFC and together we offer students an opportunity to play both secondary school and senior football at a reduced fee. School teams have access to club facilities and some teams hold trainings down at the club.

The football programme runs a closed-group Facebook page entitled Feilding High School Football Programme, where students and parents can request access for daily notices, training programmes and upcoming fixtures and results.
